VSS
The VSS is a 9mm designated marksman rifle. It carries a cyclic rate of 701 rpm, a 10-round magazine and a 3.1 s reload. Against an unarmored target at point-blank range, a torso shot deals 47.3 damage (3 hits to kill) and a head shot deals 105.8 (one hit).

Field notes
reviewed for Update 42.3The VSS is the strangest entry in the DMR class and the numbers show why. Its integral suppressor and fixed scope mean the weapon has no muzzle or optic slot at all — it leaves the crate already assembled, and nothing on the map upgrades what it shoots through or looks through. Only the magazine and stock can be improved.
The catch is the 9mm subsonic round: 430 m/s muzzle velocity, by far the slowest of any DMR (the next-slowest, the SKS, is nearly twice as fast at 800 m/s). Past 150–200 m you are aiming a full body-length or more ahead of a moving target and visibly above a stationary one. Inside that envelope, though, the VSS is quietly vicious: it fires full-auto at a 701 rpm cyclic rate — faster than any other DMR — and the damage calculator puts a point-blank headshot on an unhelmeted target past the 100 HP mark.
Treat it as a stealth SMG-DMR hybrid: suppressed harassment at mid range, surprise full-auto burst up close, and a weapon that gives away almost nothing on the kill feed's audio.
- No muzzle or optic slot — suppressor and scope are built in.
- 430 m/s muzzle velocity: the slowest DMR round in the game by a wide margin.
- Full-auto capable at 701 rpm cyclic — unique among DMRs.
- 45 base damage; a clean point-blank headshot downs an unhelmeted target.
