RPD
The RPD is a 7.62mm light machine gun. It carries a cyclic rate of 750 rpm, a 50-round magazine and a 3.5 s reload. Against an unarmored target at point-blank range, a torso shot deals 45.2 damage (3 hits to kill) and a head shot deals 98.9 (2 hits).

Field notes
reviewed for Update 42.3The RPD arrived in Update 42.3 as the third live LMG, and its numbers read like a deliberate counterweight to the M249: 43 damage per bullet — the hardest hit in the class — at 750 rounds per minute from a 50-round drum of 7.62mm. That is 2,150 damage per drum and roughly 537 damage per second, delivered in heavier chunks than the M249's faster 5.56 stream.
The trade is the round itself. At 735 m/s the RPD fires the slowest bullet of the live LMGs (M249 915, MG3 820), so leading targets matters sooner. Its kit is also deliberately spare: an optic, a magazine, and a stock — no foregrip and no muzzle attachments at all. The recoil you feel out of the crate is the recoil you keep, which is exactly how it was designed: PUBG pitches it as the controllable, suppressive-fire alternative, and it launched into the same 42.3 rebalance that trimmed LMG reloads by a quarter and horizontal recoil by 30%.
Where it slots in: harder per-bullet punch than any 5.56 weapon and a deeper magazine than any rifle, on ammo you are already carrying for an AKM or Beryl. It spawns on every map, no care package required.
- New in Update 42.3 — world spawn on all maps.
- 43 base damage: the hardest-hitting LMG per bullet.
- 50-round drum; extended magazines push it to 110 rounds.
- No foregrip or muzzle slot — optic, magazine, and stock only.
